Position Overview:
The Equity and Access Outreach Support Officer will assist in promoting inclusive employment opportunities for individuals from marginalised and underrepresented communities. The role will focus on supporting outreach activities, helping to identify and address barriers to work, and contributing to structured mentorship and progression pathways. The postholder will work closely with the Operations Team, HR Team, DEI Coordinator, and external partners to support equity, access, and belonging across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Outreach

Support the building and maintenance of partnerships with community organisations, support services, and local agencies to engage individuals facing barriers to employment.

Assist in representing Mr. Price Branded Bargains at outreach events, job fairs, and forums, promoting inclusive employment and progression pathways.
Pathway and Programme Support

Assist in the delivery of access-to-work schemes tailored to underrepresented groups, including work experience, mentorships, internships, and supported employment opportunities.

Work with internal teams to help sustain opportunities for long-term inclusion and development.
Mentorship Programme Support

Support the coordination of mentorship programmes aimed at individuals from marginalised backgrounds within the organisation.

Assist in recruiting and supporting staff mentors, matching them with mentees, and tracking participation.
Barrier Identification and Mitigation

Support the collection of information to help identify barriers to work for key groups (e.g. ethnic minorities, long-term unemployed).

Assist in providing information to help the organisation make reasonable adjustments and offer targeted supports.
Internal Collaboration

Work with the Operations Team to support the integration of equity and access priorities into the wider DEI strategy.

Assist HR in implementing inclusive recruitment and progression practices.
Training and Awareness

Assist in organising awareness sessions and staff briefings on inclusive employment, bias, and accessibility.

Help promote cultural competency and allyship within teams.
Monitoring and Reporting

Maintain records of outreach activity, mentorship engagement, and employment outcomes.

Provide regular updates to the Operations Team, highlighting key activities and outcomes.
Administrative Support

Maintain databases and programme documentation.

Support with funding applications or partnership bids where appropriate.
Person Specification:

Experience working with or supporting marginalised communities.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Lived experience of facing barriers to employment or inclusion is an advantage.

Confidence in maintaining records and reporting on activities.
